The mission of the major in criminology is to provide students with a multidisciplinary approach to crime and deviance, with particular emphasis on providing critical thinking skills and familiarizing students with the dominant ways professionals use to explain, predict, and prevent crime and victimization.

The educational studies major focuses on both the art and science of instruction across a broad range of contexts. The influence of philosophy, sociology and psychology are examined to understand their impact on community engagement in today’s world. This degree does not lead to teacher certification but focuses on a scholarly examination of learning and informal learning environments in classrooms as well as informal educational settings within the larger community.

Build a broad knowledge base and develop transferrable skills, gaining the academic and intellectual foundation to advance your career and pursue graduate education.

Identify and apply appropriate terminology, facts, concepts, principles, analytic techniques and theories used in management when analyzing moderately complex situations.

Explore issues involving religion and global society, such as the conflict between traditional and liberal values, conflict creation and resolution, human rights, the influence of science, new technology and new forms of communication. The full 128 credit hour degree program can also be completed entirely online.

Become familiar with several areas within the communications curriculum. You may devise a concentration in the theory and history of media, or may combine work in two or more media (for example, journalism and photography, or advertising and public relations).

The bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) program is designed for the registered nurse who wishes to advance his or her knowledge in nursing, the sciences, and the liberal arts. The program helps the registered nurse develop analytic and communication skills for professional excellence. Nurses with current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a registered nurse in the states of Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri or South Carolina are welcome to apply.

* In order to pursue a degree completion program, students must have earned either 64 hours of transferable college credit or an associates degree from a regionally accredited school prior to being admitted to Webster.
