Founded in 1943/44, Muscats Motors is one of the oldest car distributorships in Malta. Muscats Motors started its distributorship representing Jaguar and Land Rover, which was followed by Alfa Romeo and then Austin Morris models of MINI Marina.

Continental Cars Limited was founded in 1952 and was formed for the purpose of importing the Volkswagen Beetles. The Mizzi Family at that time had the Morris (or currently known as Rover). Mr. Nordhoff, who led the Volkswagen Company as it became the Third Largest Automobile Group in the World and the biggest company in Germany, required a representative in Malta who was in the car business industry and chose the Mizzi family to be the representative of the Volkswagen brand.

Nissan Motor Sales has been the official distributor since the early 1960 s and was among the first Japanese manufactured vehicles to be imported in Malta. Being well known today as a leading Japanese brand and having a solid reputation based on high quality and long term reliability. Besides importing and selling of the vehicles the company also provides the sale of original parts and after sales service in accordance to Nissan specific standards.

Industrial motors has been around since the early 40 s originally selling Roots products, namely Humber, Hillman, Sunbeam, Singer, Comer and Karrier products. Industrial Motors became the sole distributors of Suzuki and Mitsubishi in the 1960 s. They were originally also the sole distributors for SEAT, prior to SEAT being amalgamated under the VAG group. SEAT distributorship is now located at Continental Cars ltd.
