Mahon is the capital of the island and Mahon Airport is only a short distance away. Situated on the east coast, Mahon boasts a variety of 18 th century mansions, churches and a wonderful Gothic cathedral amongst its charms. One of the undoubted highlights is Arch de San Roque which is the only remaining part of the old city wall.
Amble around the wonderful market held in a former convent and grab a bargain if you can or head to the Xoriguer gin distillery by the harbour. If you re after beaches, you need to head out of town as there aren t any at Mahon itself.
Cala en Porter
This resort is only a short distance from the airport making it ever-popular. It is close to the Calas Coves, which provides a great day out. The beach here is very pretty and well protected by the surrounding cliffs.
A small, laid-back town on Menorca s south coast. With 2 glorious beaches nearby and a wide range of facilities dotted around, this resort is well suited to a family holiday. Santo Tomas is also well situated if you want to explore Mahon.
Home to a 2km stretch of beach, relaxation is definitely the name of the game here. For something a little different, a visit to the ruins at Torre d’en Galm s should provide a fascinating day out.
To the north of the island is Son Parc, home to the solitary golf course that can be found in Menorca. The beach here is tranquil and great for relaxing and soaking up the sunshine. The strip is full of bars and restaurants, so you should be able to find something that suits your needs.
Cala n Bosch
With two sandy beaches to choose from, you will be able to top up your tan at a variety of locations. This port area has a lovely marina, perfect for an afternoon stroll. Its proximity to Ciutadella makes it well placed for an exploration of the island.
H2: Cala Blanca
Explore this more modern resort, full of delightful restaurants and wondrous beaches. Similar to Cala n Bosch, it s close to Ciutadella, so visiting there is a must.

Packed with historical wonders and elegant palaces, Ciutadella really is a fantastic place for a varied holiday. Wander around the Museu Municipal de Ciutadella, visit the ancient burial site Naveta des Tudons or place a bet on a trotting race! Laze in one of the coves that surround this area for a spot of relaxation or head out to Mercadal, the gateway to Monte Toro, Menorca s highest peak.
